DISPLAY

When Starship becomes fully operational, it will be able to deliver as many as 100 passengers and 100 metric tons of cargo to the surface of the Moon or Mars. So, what sort of habitats will those first, permanent, off-Earth settlers live in?

AN INITIAL HABITAT
We believe that the best, first habitats should be large inflatables. In particular, the InstaBase concept is of a complete base, delivered all at once that would be able to house the historic Initial Permanent Crew and meet all of their needs.

To illustrate this concept, we have constructed a full-scale mock-up of the InstaBase made from inexpensive sheet plastic. It is so large that it entirely fills the inside of a high school gymnasium. It has interconnected modules with living, work, and arts areas.

Would you like to tour our InstaBase mock-up?

DISPLAYING THE INSTABASE MOCK-UP
We plan on displaying it on a property on the eastern edge of Brownsville, TX just prior and after the initial launch attempt. It is unclear when that will be but it may be as early as January, 2022. If the maiden flight of the Falcon Heavy is any indication, we expect as many as 100,000 visitors will go to watch the Starship orbital attempt. With our property being immediately alongside of Boca Chica Blvd / Highway 4 the may have many thousands of visitors wanting to check out our InstaBase mock-up. We are also looking to partner with other space advocate organizations so that we all can host together at the InstaBase property at that time.

We plan on providing tours with explanations about the infrastructure, vehicles, robots, function of each module, and what sort of activities the Initial Permanent Crew might do. We will also explain how you can participate in the Space Development Network to help move forward the Plan for Sustainable Space Development.

Please check back on this page for dates and directions to our display as the time approaches.
